Noam Chomsky
Noam Chomsky, geboren 1928, ist Professor emeritus am M.I.T. für Sprachwissenschaft und Philosophie. Er hat die moderne Linguistik revolutioniert und zahlreiche Bestseller über Politik verfasst. Chomsky ist einer der weltweit bekanntesten linken Intellektuellen und seit jeher ein prominenter Kritiker der amerikanischen Politik wie auch des globalen Kapitalismus.
Ilan Pappe
Ilan Pappe, geboren 1954 in Haifa als Sohn deutscher Juden, die aus Deutschland geflüchtet waren, studierte in Jerusalem und promovierte in Oxford. Er ist einer der Protagonisten der »Neuen israelischen Historiker«, die für eine Revision der offiziellen Geschichtsschreibung des Zionismus und des Staates Israel und für einen kritischen Ausgleich mit den Palästinensern plädieren«. Er war Leiter des Friedensforschungsinstitut Givat Haviva, lehrte bis 2007 politische Wissenschaften an der Universität Haifa und ist derzeit Professor für Geschichte an der Universität Exeter.
