Aldous Huxley
Aldous Leonard Huxley, geboren 1894 in Godalming/Surrey, in Eton erzogen, studierte nach einer schweren Augenkrankheit englische Literatur in Oxford und war ab 1919 zunächst als Journalist und Theaterkritiker tätig. 1921 begann er mit der Veröffentlichung seines ersten Romans »Die Gesellschaft auf dem Lande« seine literarische Laufbahn. Von 1938 an lebte er in Kalifornien. Huxley starb 1963 in Hollywood.
