Saúl Alvídrez ist ein mexikanischer Aktivist und Dokumentarfilmer. Inspiriert von Julian Assange gründete er 2012 die Studentenbewegung #Yo Soy 132. Durch seinen Aktivismus war er gezwungen, mehrere Jahre lang in den lateinamerikanischen Süden zu flüchten, wo er mit den Dreharbeiten zu seinem ersten Dokumentarfilm, "Chomsky & Mujica: Überleben im 21. Jahrhundert" (im Original: "Chomsky & Mujica: Sobreviviendo Al Siglo XXI"), begann. Der Film dokumentiert mehrere Begegnungen des Autors mit dem US-amerikanischen Intellektuellen Noam Chomsky und dem ehemaligen uruguayischen Präsidenten José "Pepe" Mujica, des Weiteren wirkt der englische Musiker Roger Waters (Mitbegründer der Band Pink Floyd) als Erzähler mit.
Noam Chomsky, geboren 1928, ist Professor emeritus am M.I.T. für Sprachwissenschaft und Philosophie. Er hat die moderne Linguistik revolutioniert und zahlreiche Bestseller über Politik verfasst. Chomsky ist einer der weltweit bekanntesten linken Intellektuellen und seit jeher ein prominenter Kritiker der amerikanischen Politik wie auch des globalen Kapitalismus.
